Ryan Stoll

Ryan grew up in central Minnesota west of the Twin Cities where his love for fishing started at the age of three. Over the past 30 years that love has only matured along with him. From youth all the way through high school, fishing was life for Ryan. Whether it was fishing from a boat in the summer or fishing through a hole in the ice in the middle of winter he could always be found trying to catch a fish.
Ryan moved to Bozeman after high school where he started classes at MSU. In 2013 after earning a degree from MSU, he took his first guide job at The Ranch at Rock Creek. Since then he has guided every season with the exception of two while working for Orvis as a Fishing Manager. After realizing that an office job wasn’t the path for him, Ryan returned to guiding as an independent contractor and has been guiding for several different outfitters in south west Montana since 2017.
After 7 seasons of being an independent guide and working for others, he decided it was time to start his own outfitting business. It was at this point that Ryan became licensed as an outfitter and started Montana Trout Company.
