Anders Korman

Read Bio

Anders was born and raised in Bend Oregon along with his twin brother Isaac. His love for fishing started at the age of 10 when he was given a hand-me-down rod. The first river he used this hand-me-down on was the Deschutes in central Oregon. It was only after a couple days out on the river that Anders started to realize that fishing would become a major aspect of his life. At the age of 16 Anders became a member of the USA Youth Fly Fishing Team. This was a very competitive team to earn a place on and Anders quickly earned a reputation for being one of the heavy hitters on the team. Being a part of this elite group of young anglers brought Anders all around North America to compete in different matches. At the age of 16, Anders started his career in the fishing industry and was hired as “shop staff” at Confluence Fly Shop in Oregon. The following season Anders took his first guide job with Deep Canyon Outfitters. “Working for Deep Canyon Outfitters was a great experience and I learned a lot from the older guides. I guided all along the Deschutes, Crooked River and the high Cascade Lakes of Oregon” says Anders. After graduating high school, Anders and his twin Isaac decided that it was time to head to Montana to continue their career in the trout fishing industry. The 2024 season will be Anders third season as a licensed independent Montana guide. His passion for the sport is obvious and his internal drive to be successful on the water makes him an excellent guide for any angler with any skill set.

Isaac Korman

Read Bio

Isaac was born and raised in Bend Oregon along with his twin brother Anders. These two brothers have taken a very similar path and have worked as a team throughout their lives to better their fishing abilities. As a result of this, they have very similar guide bios. Like his brother, Isaac’s introduction to fishing came at the age of 10 and stemmed from the same hand-me-down rod mentioned above. Isaac was also on the USA Youth Fly Fishing Team and has the same experiences traveling and competing all around North America. In the off season Isaac can be found on the mountain, as skiing is another love in his life. Both of the brothers spend their winters working at our local ski resort and are just as obsessed with their winter hobby as they are with fishing. Don’t be fooled by the age of these two. They have more then enough experience on the water and can out fish/guide the vast majority of anglers in Montana. The 2024 season will be Isaac’s third season as a licensed independent guide and we are very fortunate to have him as a part of the MTC team.

Ryan Richardson

Read Bio

Ryan’s passion for fly fishing started at the age of seven at his families cabin on the Stillwater River in South Central MT. Armed with just a pocket full of Royal Wulffs and grandpas fly rod, he was out on the water any chance he got. This passion quickly developed beyond the back yard and Ryan now spends his summers guiding anglers all across Western Montana. On an off day, Ryan can be found on the Yellowstone river tossing giant streamers while searching for his next personal best brown trout. In the off season, Ryan operates a small private chef company. Ryan is a fun, laid back guy that always has a smile on his face and a fish in his net. This season will be Ryan’s 7th season as a licensed guide and we are happy to have him as a part of our team here at MTC.

Hunter Wright

Read Bio

Hunter first started fly fishing at the age of 10 with his grandmother on the rivers surrounding Jackson Hole. Within a short time, he fell in love with the sport. When Hunter was 15, he was selected to compete on the USA Youth Fly Fishing Team. Fishing along side of the Korman brothers listed above, Hunter also quickly became known as one of the best anglers on the team. It was during this journey of traveling North America and competing in different angling competitions that Hunter was introduced to the rivers of south west MT. It was at this point that he realized that Bozeman needed to be home. A few years later Hunter packed his bags and made the move from Alabama to MT. This season will be Hunter’s third season as a guide here in MT and we are happy to have him on board as one of our walk wade specialist.

The guides listed here are the core guides for MTC. Other independent guides are also used regularly. This is normal as most licensed guides in Montana operate as independent contractors and have to work under a licensed outfitter.
